Insulated Room Sealed Flue Kit

Insulated Room Sealed Flue Kit

Pivot Stove & Heating’s Insulated Room Sealed Flue Kit is the latest evolution in flue technology. Designed in Australia, the Room Sealed Flue Kit (RSFK) is a fully insulated twist lock flue system, designed to completely seal the room (no more air loss to cool the flue down), and to provide a simpler installation than other flues available on the market.

Starting with your wood heater, the RSFK increases your heater’s heat output by 8%. It does this by sealing the room at the ceiling. In traditional air-cooled flue kits, 8% of the heat your heater produces is lost through the gaps in the ceiling ring to cool the room down. Not with the RSFK. This equals about one tonne of wood saved per year, reducing your running costs and the environmental impact.

The lengths of RSFK are made with a six-inch active inner casing (stainless steel), two inches of ceramic fibre around the active flue and then an eight-inch outer casing (stainless steel) This outer casing can be painted black to match the heater inside the room. And on either end of the flue length, is a male or female twist lock length, completely sealing the lengths. There are no exposed fibers anywhere along the length of the flue, ensuring it is completely safe.

The RSFK is made entirely out of stainless steel, so it is highly averse to rust, even in the most challenging of areas such as by the ocean. And the 7-year warranty on the flue (1 year on the cowl) back this up. The flue inside the room is painted to match your wood heater with Stove Bright paint, the same paint your wood heater is made from. Because of this, if the flue is scratched, it is a simple and easy touch up to get it looking brand new!

In addition to standard lengths, the RSFK also has several pieces useful in a variety of situations. Adjustable lengths can be used to close gaps, bends can be used to offset RSFK in a ceiling cavity or a room and T-pieces can be used for wall penetration installations.

What really sets this flue apart is the twist lock connection. Each length has a female end and male end which clicks together, allowing you to build your flue up from the top of your heater. No more suspending triple skin flues in ceiling or messing around trying to get multiple lengths of flue to sit straight. And being a narrower flue (200mm vs 250mm diameter of traditional flue kits) allows you to get through tighter spaces with your flue while still maintaining your clearances. This ease of installation will save money on the install, as it takes far less time to install a wood heater with RSFK than traditional air-cooled flue kits.

Combining the RSFK with an Outside Air Intake (not available on all wood heaters) gives you a completely air-tight system for your wood fire allowing you to bring fresh air into your fire and keep the air in the room, not losing it up the flue. The two systems work on harmony to ensure you get the most out of your wood heater.

With all the above benefits, it’s not hard to see why so many people are turning to the Insulated Room Sealed Flue Kit for their wood heater. Being so quick and easy to install, the installers will be in and out of your home much quicker, saving you money on the installation
